Natalie Johnsons is an artist who is inspired by the beauties of the Earth, human nature and self discovery-along with other things. She works primarily in oil paints but also enjoys working in mixed media and colored pencil. Natalie is a senior in high school, and despite her young age she has been working hard for years to create art that doesn't just look nice but has the ability to connect people and provoke thought. She started taking art seriously when she was 12 doing pet portrait commissions. She started doing these for family, than friends of family, and eventually people she didn't even know. The ability to reach people with her art is what inspired her to keep working at her craft. After spending time exploring various other disciplines like music and sports she came back to art with newfound inspiration and maturity in her ideas. Natalie plans on becoming a medical illustrator as she is fascinated by the idea of helping people understand complicated concepts through her art.
